Valentine’s Day is usually dreaded by singles out there since most of the events during this season are geared towards those in a relationship. And those who are single can’t help but feel miserable about their plight around this time. Fortunately, these single people (myself included) need not to fret anymore since Yeng Constantino says that it’s perfectly ok to be single via her early Valentine’s Day offering. This February 3, 2012, 8:00 PM at the Music Museum, Cornerstone Concerts, RRJ and Qualibet presents Yeng Constantino in OK Lang Maging Single Sa Valentines, a concert celebrating the status of being single.

This concert was conceptualized right after Yeng’s solo concert in 2011 when she had an idea about a Valentine’s Day concert intended for single people instead of the couples most shows are targeted to. So instead of sulking this season, Yeng puts a more positive approach to being single. And during a recent bloggers conference at Kozui Green Tea, Yeng’s enthusiasm was overflowing as she tried hard not to spill major spoilers of her concert. She was allowed though to say that she’ll be playing live for the first time an original song that is made especially for this concert. She couldn’t contain her excitement when she told about the video she was about to shoot for this song as well. The palpable thrill emanating from her made me so intrigued as to what these surprises are and I guess that I just had to watch the concert in order to find them out. And as an added treat, Jovit Baldivino and Paolo Valenciano will be her special guests in this concert.

Yeng has indeed come a long, long way since her breakout hit Hawak Kamay right after her stint as a Pinoy Dream Academy scholar. In a span of just a few years, she already has established herself as one of the more promising singer/songwriters of her generation. Her drive to write and release original material instead of covers also made her one of the movers of the local music industry. And her stage presence and energy during live performances can truly convince that it’s truly ok to be single this Valentine’s Day. After all, she is also single and very happy being just that.

The show will be directed by Dido Camara (ASAP Sessionistas) and with music direction by guitarist and producer Jack Rufo. Special thanks to Let’s Face It, Orange Magazine TV, MYX and Magic 89.9. This show is for the benefit of Bosom Buddies.
