Repertory Philippines welcomes 2013 and their 76th theater season by flying in the laughs with Boeing Boeing, a comedy set in the 60’s about a playboy juggling three fiancées at the same time. This award winning play (2008 Tony Award and Drama Desk Award for Best Play Revival) will open this January 25, 2013 and will run up to February 17, 2013 at Onstage located in Greenbelt 1.

David Bianco who was last seen in Next Fall leads the cast as the playboy Bernard Whitford, an architect residing in Paris where he juggles his three fiancées who are all air hostesses. Giannina Ocampo (Gabriella from Italy), Carla Dunareanu (Gretchen from Germany) and Jennifer Blair-Bianco (Gloria from USA) portray the three air hostesses shuttling in and out of Bernard’s Parisian apartment completely unaware of each other’s existence. All goes well until the introduction of the Boeing aircraft, making air travel faster and throwing off Bernard’s supposed to be well crafted plan into disarray. Also included in the play is Topper Fabregas as Robert, Bernard’s childhood friend.

Baby Barredo

This production of Boeing Boeing is also notable as it marks the return of Baby Barredo to the stage since A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino back in 2009. Barredo, co-founder of Repertory Philippines and one of the major figures in Philippine theater portrays the role of Bertha who is Bernard’s housekeeper. Barredo alternates the role of Bertha with Joy Virata.

Boeing Boeing was written by Marc Camoletti in French and was translated to English by Beverley Cross and Francis Evans. This play is the most performed French play in the world. In the Repertory Philippines staging of this play, Miguel Faustmann directs and is also the set designer. Light design is by John Batalla and costumes are courtesy of Raven Ong.

Boeing Boeing is presented through special arrangement with Eric Glass Ltd.
