Pianist Matthew Calderon caps MCO Foundation’s Young Artists Series

Sixteen year old pianist Matthew Calderon performs at the Ayala Museum this October 16, 2013 at 7:00 PM to close out the MCO Foundation’s Young Artists Series 2013. Currently a 4th year student at the Philippine High School for the Arts (PHSA) under the tutelage of Mary Anne Espina, Matthew will perform works by Bach, Debussy, Schumann and Beethoven.

Matthew has won prizes in competitions like the 2nd International Mozart Piano Competition in Bangkok, Thailand wherein he was the lone winner and at the Piano Teachers Guild of the Philippines’ Soundscapes in 2011 wherein he won 4th prize. He was also among the 11 young pianists from across Asia who participated at the 2013 Summer Piano Institute at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory at Singapore.
