Songmakers' Almanac series continues with love songs from the silver screen

The Songmakers' Almanac series continues with Reminiscence: Love Songs from the Silver Screen, a unique pre-Valentine's Day is in store this February 11, 2012, 6:30 PM at the Amorsolo/Luna Room of the Ayala Museum. This concert showcases features soprano Thea Perez, vocalist Oggie Benipayo under the supervision of composer/pianist Jed Balsamo.

The evening's repertoire will highlight classic songs that are strongly associated in movies and television throughout the years. Composers who have given movies immortal classics include Henry Mancini, Jerome Kerns, Errico Morricone, Michel Legrand and their music will be heard once more through the talents of Perez, Benipayo and Balsamo. Highlights of the evening will include “Smile” from The Modern Times, “For Always” from Artificial Intelligence and also “Let Me Be Your Wings” from Thumbelina.

Full Proceeds from the concert will benefit Recovery Circle Foundation. Recovery Circle Foundation Inc. (RCF) is a non-stock, non-profit organization that has, for the past 16 years been offering professional treatment programs for chemically dependent persons and persons with compulsive behavioral problems (sex, gambling, etc.) and their families. Recovery Circle is committed to addressing the devastating effects of addiction, one family at a time.
