Due to its overwhelming success and rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, Rodgers & Hammerstein's South Pacific makes its highly anticipated comeback. Following its acclaimed Philippine staging by the UST Conservatory of Music as part of its 80th Founding Anniversary celebration, presented by the University of Santo Tomas Conservatory of Music, in partnership with College of Commerce and Business Administration, audiences once again have the opportunity to experience one of the most celebrated musicals in Broadway history.
Set in the South Pacific during World War II, this timeless masterpiece tells a powerful story of love, hope, courage, and the challenges of overcoming prejudice. Featuring unforgettable songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, Bali Ha’i, Younger Than Springtime, and Happy Talk, compelling characters, and a moving narrative, South Pacific has captivated audiences around the world for generations and remains one of the most beloved works in musical theatre.
This special comeback production is directed by Paolo O'Hara, and features singer, actress, and TV personality Ciara Sotto as Nellie Forbush, and acclaimed composer, music director, and classical-contemporary vocal artist, Jose Vera Perez as Emile de Becque, together with Nenen Espina as Bloody Mary, Sean Nolasco as Lt. Cable, and more, with the exceptional UST Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Bartolome, delivering Rodgers & Hammerstein's iconic score through world-class orchestral and vocal performances.
