The Manila Pianos Artist Series greets 2022 with the online concert of trombonist Lio Alumno in The Mighty Trombone premiering on January 2, 2022, 7:30 PM.
Accompanied by pianist Dingdong Fiel, Alumno will perform Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's Concerto for Trombone and Military Band, James Edward Curnow's Fantasy for Trombone and Piano, and Alexandre Guilmant's Morceau Symphonique, Op. 88.
Back in August 2021, Lio Alumno bagged the 1st Prize in the solo category of the Malaysia International Virtual Band Competition. He is currently a student at the UST Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Ricson Poonin.
