The
Japan Foundation, Manila (JFM) continues its celebration of the 40th
Year of ASEAN-Japan Friendship and Cooperation as it presents The Restaurant of Many Orders by the
Koike Hiroshi Bridge Project happening on October 16, 2013 , 8:00 PM
at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’
Tanghalang Aurelio Tolentino (CCP Little Theater).
This
theatrical production of The Restaurant of Many Fables is based on the novel of
the same name by Kenji Miyazawa. One of Miyazawa’s most famous works, this
story is a known fable throughout Japan .
Directed by Hiroshi Koike, this show focuses on the relationship between human
and nature and will be told through theater, contemporary and traditional
dance, voice, songs and masks.
The Koike
Hiroshi Bridge Project was formed in May 2012 by Hiroshi Koike when he
closed his former company Pappa
TARAHAMURA. The group not only produces performing arts but they also
apply various media such as film, photography, installation works and writings. Hiroshi
Koike is a director, choreographer, writer, photographer and the President
of P.A.I (Performing Art Institute). After working as a TV director, he started
a performing arts company, Pappa
TARAHUMARA in 1982. He has directed 55 pieces and worked with many artists
in different countries and has established a high reputation throughout the
world.
