Julie Taymor’s visually stunning
take on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Die Zauberflӧte opens the sixth season
of the Met Opera in HD this January 8, 2019, 6:30 PM at Cinema 3, Greenbelt 3
in Makati.
This production stars Markus
Werba as Papageno, Golda Schultz as Pamina, Kathryn Lewek as the Queen of the
Night, Charles Castronovo as Tamino, and René Pape as Sarastro with James
Levine conducting.
Subsequent screenings lined up for this season are Giacomo Puccini's Tosca (February 12, 2019), Gaetano Donizetti's L'elisir d’amore (March 19, 2019), Giacomo Puccini's La bohème (April 16, 2019), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Così fan tutte (May 21, 2019), and Vincenzo Bellini's Norma on June 11, 2019. Price of admission for each screening is P450. Subscription package for all 6 screenings is avaiable at P2,400.
The Met Opera in HD screenings are presented by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, the Metropolitan Opera of New York, and the Filipinas Opera Society Foundation, Inc., in cooperation with the Ayala Mall Cinemas.
