The old meets the new in Fête de la Musique 2011

BREAKING NEWS: The Main Stage for tomorrow's Fête de la Musique has been moved to Arts in the City. Indoor stages will continue as scheduled at the pocket venues at the Fort Strip.

Back to back performances featuring seasoned artists followed by newer acts from across seven genres highlight the Fête de la Musique 2011 to be held at the Bonifacio Global City on June 25, 2011 starting at 4:00 PM. These performances, happening at the Main Stage at the Fort Plaza will also include the special participation of French rock band Merzhin, originally from Brittany, who is currently on tour of South East Asia to promote their latest album, Plus loin vers l’Ouest (Farther to the West).

Aside from the performances happening at the Main Stage, seven other venues within the Fort Strip will also feature different acts from different genres. The performance venues, all within walking distance of each other is organized by different productions and just like the Main Stage, admission is free.

With more than a hundred bands from fourteen genres performing on eight stages all happening for one night (and for FREE if I can’t stress it enough), it is indeed a festival for this edition’s Fête de la Musique 2011.

I’ve yet to take a deep breath from all the events during the past couple of weeks and another FrancoPhil event is here yet again. FrancoPhil is the 2011 French cultural season in the Philippines, organized by the Embassy of France to the Philippines and the Alliance Française de Manille and for this event, they are in partnership with Alternative Assets and B-Side.
