It’s
very rare that a foreign artist gets to record a track originally recorded by a
Filipino or a song written by a Filipino. But American Idol Season 7 Runner Up
David Archuleta takes it several notches higher by recording a whole album entitled
Forevemore filled with songs that
were written and/or originally recorded by Filipino artists.
This
album has now been re-released by Ivory Music & Video as Forevermore Expanded Edition that includes a couple of bonus tracks
including the Ogie Alcasid classic Nandito Ako (which was conspicuously not
included in the intitial release), several minus one tracks and a DVD of music
videos. The music videos for Forevermore
(originally done by Side A) and I’ll
Never Go (Nexxus) ended up as the number 1 and 18 spots respectively in MYX’s
Pinoy MYX Countdown Top 20 Videos of 2012.
David Archuleta’s Forevermore Expanded Edition was one of the CD releases under Ivory Music & Video that was presented during the Astroplus Blog-Connect event.
