Former
Rivermaya frontman Jason Fernandez has been making the rounds on radio for the
past weeks to gain support for Panimula,
his debut album as a solo artist released by Ivory Music & Video. I was able
to tune in and listen to a couple of these radio guestings and was impressed by his songwriting skills and vocal abilities. As much as I am glad to hear him on the radio, I still think that nothing beats
seeing a live performance. And finally, the time has come for me to see him perform live as Jason launches his album this January
18, 2013 , 8:00 PM at
Metrowalk in Ortigas.
During
his radio stints that I was able to catch, Jason performed songs from his album
Panimula, some from Rivermaya and a
cover of a foreign song. This he performed with only guitarist Beejay Valero accompanying him. But during
the launch, the entire band Sta. Maria that also includes keyboardist Krish Pincaro, bassist Ezekiel Banzuela and drummer Jared Aquino will be joining Jason on stage. Also giving a
special performance during the launch is rapper Dello.

I’ve always said, seeing a live performance is a much more fulfilling
experience compared to just listening to the record. And I want to have a
rocking start to my 2013 by seeing Jason Fernandez with his band Sta. Maria perform
tracks from Panimula especially Maria and the title track, Panimula.
